Mel’s damage is built, not announced: land Q or E, take the safe empowered auto for another mark, and press R to cash out stored damage after the target is already loaded rather than asking ultimate to create the whole kill by itself
A lot of Mel’s “no damage” games are really spacing mistakes, because skipping the walk-up empowered auto after a hit leaves you one passive layer short and turns clean kill windows into awkward almost-kills
Mel is at her best in short games and ugly walk-in fights around river or objectives, where an early lead can be spent before the map hardens; recent data shows she closes well from ahead early, then loses a lot of bite once games drag out
Ult once you have already made someone fragile enough that the detonation changes the fight immediately. In practice that usually means they have eaten a Q or E, you have taken at least one safe empowered auto, and they are either still in range or committed to a path where they cannot fully reset. If you press R before that work is done, it often feels thin. If you hold for the perfect carry angle every time, you will miss simpler kills on the target you already loaded. Treat it like a collector button: cash the marked body that is actually available, then use the numbers and space you created to keep playing forward.
Whenever Mel uses an ability, she gains three bonus projectiles (up to nine maximum) on her next attack. When Mel deals damage through an ability or attack, she applies Overwhelm, which can stack infinitely. If the enemy is hit by Mel with enough Overwhelm damage, the stacks are consumed to execute the target.
Mel fires a barrage of projectiles that explode around a target location, dealing damage repeatedly to enemies within the area.
Mel forms a barrier around herself that reflects enemy projectiles back at the attacker, prevents her from taking damage, and grants her movement speed.
Mel fires a radiant orb forward, rooting those at its center while the area around it slows enemies and deals damage over time.
Mel strikes all enemies marked with Overwhelm regardless of their distance from her, dealing additional damage for each stack of Overwhelm.Ranks of Golden Eclipse increase Overwhelm's damage.
