Pick the empowered spell before the trade starts: Pantheon top usually wants tap Q to trim health bars, empowered W only after the enemy’s long-trade answer is gone, and empowered E when the move speed or exit matters more than extra burst
E is a frontal damage shield, not a panic button, so you need to face the part of the trade that actually swings it and not expect the spell to save bad angles or clean up crowd control
Pantheon’s best games start when a top crash becomes an R timer that lands on the enemy’s exit route or joins a fight already in motion, and recent data backs that he looks better as the player making the next skirmish uneven than as a high-damage front-to-back carry
Into most top bruisers, W gets much better once they have already spent the cooldown that turns the fight into their lane instead of yours. If they still have the button that extends, sticks, or outstats the trade, keep using tap Q to trim them and hold your body back. Once their answer is gone, W stops being a commitment they are happy to receive and starts being a clean punish. If the window still looks messy, do not force it just because you have stacks; empowered Q often keeps control better, and empowered E can be the right choice when surviving the return angle matters more than squeezing damage.
Every few spells or attacks, Pantheon's next spell is empowered.
Pantheon either thrusts his spear or throws his spear in the chosen direction.
Pantheon dashes to a target, damaging and stunning them.
Pantheon sets his shield, becoming invulnerable to damage from the front and striking repeatedly with his spear.
Pantheon composes himself and then leaps into the air, landing at a chosen location as a comet.
